We are proud to be an independently owned, family-run funeral service. At JH Clark, we are a multigenerational business with a legacy that spans over 240 years. Graham, along with his sons Richard and Matthew, are part of the 8th and 9th generations of the Clark family funeral directors. For nearly two-and-a-half centuries, our family has been honoured to support families in Rotherham and the surrounding areas during their most difficult times.

Our history dates back to 1784 when Joseph Henry Clark, a joiner, carpenter and wheelwright, founded the business in Rawmarsh, Rotherham. He originally hand-crafted coffins, and over time, the business expanded to offer the comprehensive funeral services we provide today.

As one of the oldest independent funeral directors in the UK, we are committed to carrying forward this tradition of compassionate service. We’re proud to continue serving our community from the same stone-built premises where it all began in Rawmarsh. We aim to ensure that generations of our family continue to support generations of yours, providing the care and respect your family deserves.
